How to Use
- Check compatibility: Use these 1.5 mm Base Clips with compatible LEVELMAX Tile Levelling Wedges. Confirm that the clips suit the tile thickness and the joint width specified for your installation.
- Position the clips: Spread the specified tile adhesive over a properly prepared substrate and bed the first tile. Slide the clip bases beneath its edges, then lay the adjoining tile with the upright clip stem between the tiles. Maintain adequate adhesive coverage beneath both tiles.
- Insert the wedges: Slide a wedge through each clip opening. Tighten by hand or with compatible adjustable levelling pliers until adjacent tile edges align. Do not overtighten or break the clips.
- Allow the adhesive to set: Keep joints and clip break points free of excess adhesive. Leave the clips and wedges in place until the adhesive has hardened sufficiently, following the adhesive manufacturer's instructions and site conditions.
- Remove and clean: Wearing eye protection, tap the protruding clip sections with a rubber mallet along the grout joint, not across it. The clip bases remain beneath the tiles. Discard the broken clip sections, collect the wedges for reuse and clear loose debris before grouting.
Important: Base Clips are single-use; the wedges are reusable. Levelling clips help control lippage but do not replace a flat substrate, adequate adhesive coverage or specified movement joints.
